No, Adopt a Backpacker is all about work/cultural exchange. A Host should never ask to get paid for the accommodation. As a Host you can request to get some work done around the house (e.g. cooking, cleaning, babysitting or whatever is helpful) in exchange for the free accommodation.

No, Adopt a Backpacker is all about work/cultural exchange. An Adoptee should never offer to pay for an accommodation. As an Adoptee you can offer to do some work around the house (e.g. cooking, cleaning, babysitting or whatever the Host can use help with) in exchange for the free accommodation.

This is completely up to the agreement between the Host & Adoptee, but we recommend an average of 2-4 hours of work per day in exchange for the free accommodation. Hosts can also offer paid allowance if they want, or if they need more help on their property.

*Please make sure you discuss the details of the work exchange before you start an adoption so both sides have clear expectations.
